Privacy Policy

How Vurb Digital (trading as Wedding Hub) collects, uses, and protects your personal data

1. Introduction

Vurb Digital, a company registered in Ghana, operates the Wedding Hub platform (wedding-hub.online) as a trading name (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform at wedding-hub.online, including couples, vendors, and visitors.

Vurb Digital is registered with the Ghana Data Protection Commission as the data controller for the Wedding Hub platform, in accordance with Act 843.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Couples

When you register and use a couple account, we collect:

Account dataName, email address, password (stored as a secure hash).
Wedding detailsPartner names, wedding date, venue location, estimated budget.
Planning dataGuest list (names, RSVP status), checklist progress, budget entries, personal notes.
Messaging dataInquiry messages and replies exchanged with vendors.
Usage dataPages visited, features used, timestamps.

2.2 Vendors

When you register and use a vendor account, we collect:

Account dataBusiness name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash).
Business profileService category, location, bio, pricing, gallery images.
Booking & financialInquiry details, booking proposals, agreed prices, commission records, payment references.
Verification dataSee Section 3.
Subscription dataFeatured plan status, Paystack subscription reference.
Acquisition dataUTM source, medium, and campaign if you arrived via a marketing link.
Usage & analyticsProfile views, inquiry trends, platform activity.

2.3 All Users

Regardless of account type, we may also collect:

Technical dataIP address, browser type, device information, operating system.
Communication dataMessages sent to our support team.
Cookie dataSee Section 8.

3. Google Sign-In

Wedding Hub offers Google Sign-In as a convenient way to create and access your account. When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the following information from Google:

NameYour full name as set in your Google account, used to personalise your Wedding Hub profile.
Email addressUsed as your account identifier and for platform communications.
Profile pictureOptionally displayed on your account. You can update or remove it at any time.
Google account IDA unique identifier used to link your Google account to your Wedding Hub account securely.

We do not request access to your Google contacts, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, or any other Google service. We only request your basic profile and email address (OAuth scopes: openid, email, profile).

Google Sign-In is powered by Supabase Auth and Google OAuth 2.0. By using Google Sign-In, you are also subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can revoke Wedding Hub’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google account permissions.

4. Vendor Identity Verification (KYC)

Vendors who opt into our verification programme submit their name, ID type, and ID number for verification. This information is transmitted securely to a licensed third-party identity verification provider who checks it against authoritative databases, including:

  • The National Identification Authority (NIA) database for Ghana Card verification.
  • The Registrar General's Department for business registration verification.

We do not receive, store, or view copies of your identity documents. The verification provider processes document data under their own privacy framework and regulatory obligations.

From the verification process, we store only:

  • Verification outcome (approved or rejected).
  • A reference ID issued by the verification provider.
  • The date and time of verification.

This data is used solely to display your verified status on the Platform and to maintain records of our verification process.

5. How We Use Your Data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

Service deliveryTo provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its features.
Account managementTo create and maintain your account, authenticate your identity, and manage your preferences.
Bookings & communicationsTo facilitate inquiries, proposals, and bookings between couples and vendors.
PaymentsTo process commission invoices and Featured subscription payments via Paystack.
VerificationTo confirm vendor identity and business legitimacy via our third-party verification provider.
Transactional emailsTo send booking confirmations, invoices, receipts, and platform notifications relevant to your activity.
AnalyticsTo understand platform usage, improve features, and provide vendors with performance insights.
Marketing acquisitionTo attribute vendor sign-ups to marketing campaigns (UTM data).
Legal complianceTo meet our obligations under Ghanaian law, including the Data Protection Act, 2012.

7. Data Sharing

6.1 Between Users

Vendor profile information (name, category, location, bio, pricing, images, and verification status) is visible to all Platform users and the public. Couple contact information is shared with a vendor only when a couple sends an inquiry.

6.2 Third-Party Service Providers

We share data with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase – database hosting and authentication infrastructure.
  • Google LLC – authentication via Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0). Only basic profile data (name, email, profile picture) is shared.
  • Vercel – platform hosting.
  • Resend – transactional email delivery.
  • Paystack – payment processing for subscriptions and commissions.
  • Identity Verification Provider – vendor KYC verification (e.g. Smile Identity or Appruve).

All providers are required to process data only for the purposes for which it was shared and to maintain appropriate security.

6.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or a competent Ghanaian authority.

6.4 No Sale of Data

Vurb Digital does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfil our legal and business obligations.

Account dataRetained for the duration of your account. Deleted accounts are purged within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.
Booking & commission recordsRetained for 7 years in line with Ghanaian tax and commercial record-keeping requirements.
Verification recordsOutcome and reference ID retained for the duration of the vendor's account plus 2 years.
Marketing attributionUTM data retained for 2 years.
Unsubscribe recordsRetained indefinitely to honour your preference.

9. Cookies

The Platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the service. Types of cookies we use:

Essential cookiesRequired for the Platform to function (authentication sessions, security).
Analytical cookiesUsed to understand how users interact with the Platform, so we can improve the experience.

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect Platform functionality.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data:

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
  • Passwords stored as secure cryptographic hashes.
  • Database Row-Level Security (RLS) enforced at the database level.
  • KYC documents not stored by Vurb Digital or Wedding Hub — processed externally by verified providers.
  • Paystack webhook requests verified via HMAC-SHA512 signatures.
  • Access to administrative functions restricted to authorised personnel only.

No system is completely secure. While we take these measures seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for breaches outside our reasonable control.

11. Your Rights

Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the following rights:

Right of accessYou may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right of correctionYou may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right of deletionYou may request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
Right to objectYou may object to processing of your data for certain purposes, including direct marketing.
Withdraw consentWhere processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@wedding-hub.online. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

12. Email Communications

We send transactional emails as part of Platform operation (booking confirmations, invoices, receipts, account notifications). These are not marketing emails and are sent because they are necessary for the service.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending non-essential communications. We may still send emails that are strictly necessary for your account or legal obligations.

13. Children

The Platform is not intended for persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete it promptly.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting the revised Policy on the Platform with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
